Throughout our lives, we have had a passion for exercise and the science that supports it. This dedication has given us the means to take the knowledge and experience that we’ve gained and help people form good habits to improve their lives.
Over the past 10 years, the health and fitness industry has been redefined. As personal trainers in Chicago, we realized the importance of incorporating these most recent innovations into our style and system of training.
Our goal in creating G.I. Jane Fitness, has been to bridge the gap between the work of doctors, physical therapists and nutritionists with the skills and knowledge of a qualified exercise specialist. It is this collaboration that allows us to offer an unprecedented level of service with professionalism, consistency and distinction.
Jane began her fitness career at 13 years of age, when she realized the benefits of exercise and proper nutrition.
While most teenagers spent time in the malls, Jane spent her time exercising. Jane, a mother of four, has always kept herself fit through exercise. She is a graduate of the Fitness Instructor Training program at McHenry County College and is certified through the American College of Sports Medicine. Jane also holds a degree as a Cancer Exercise Specialist. Jane and her five children live in Northern Illinois and spend their free time exercising, camping, boating, biking, running, good old fashioned playing and enjoying family time together.
Jane believes that to successfully progress through the trials of life, one must challenge their mind, body, and soul to secure a feeling of wellness. Jane’s goal is to get and keep people motivated to make deliberate lifestyle changes relative to their personal responsibilities for optimal enhancement of physical, mental, and spiritual health, equaling complete wellness. Jane’s training method is generally functional. Functional training is fun and will enhance your ability to perform everyday life activities better. Jane gives no ordinary workout.
Jess is an experienced Wellness Coach that implements a full circle program to give clients lasting results. It is clear that most everyone would love to look and feel great, however not everyone knows how to implement a lifestyle that produces such results. Jess focuses on each individual’s goals and motivators, identifies obstacles and challenges, and sets in place a plan that is both achievable and maintainable.
Having graduated from Augustana College with her BA in Biology and over 8 years of experience in the health and fitness fields, Jess has a thorough understanding of how the body works and what is needed to function optimally. Passionate about living a healthy, active life and helping others do the same led her to become certified as a Wellness Coach. By creating healthy behaviors, minimizing stress, improving body composition, and identifying new favorite foods that provide stable energy and nutrition, clients are able to get their metabolisms operating in high gear. Instead of focusing on limitations, clients gain education, acquire practical habits and learn how to implement result producing behaviors.
Working with Jess as your Wellness Coach, you can expect a personalized program designed to push, motivate and hold you accountable in your commitment. You can expect tools to be available to monitor your progress, as well as track your accomplishments or areas needing improvement. Your journey requires both inspiration and perspiration, beginning with the decision to work toward optimal health. Jess will work with you to establish achievable goals, develop a healthy mindset and design a way of life to accomplish your highest potential for well-being.
Vito John Kontrimas
Vito John Kontrimas is a graduate of Lifetime Academy, and a NASM (National Academy of Sports Medicine) Certified Personal Trainer (CPT) with advanced certificates from NASM as a Performance Enhancement (PES) and Corrective Exercise Specialist (CES), including over 20 years experience as a fitness enthusiast. Vito offers personal training services, with programs designed according to individual fitness levels and goals, in a one on one or small group setting, that are safe, efficient, and effective in a positive relaxed atmosphere. Vito’s holistic approach to health and fitness encompasses cardiovascular fitness, muscular strength and endurance, flexibility, nutrition, stress and lifestyle considerations.
Vito works with clients who are looking to improve body composition ( weight loss or muscle gain ) and can help clients with more specific goals such as improving sports performance or who need help with physical dysfunction, including the improvement of balance, range of motion, and those released from physical therapy.
Vito’s ultimate goal is to change the lives of each and every client, no matter how small or seemingly insurmountable the goals may be. He is a devoted lifetime learner in the areas of fitness and nutrition, committed to offering everyone a way of exercising and staying healthy on the individuals own terms, based on exercise preference, time frames, and constraints. He creates programs which are fun, motivating, and easy to follow whenever or wherever you want.
I am an NSCA Certified Personal Trainer with a passion for all around fitness. I enjoy witnessing and being a part of micro and macro goals set by each individual that I have the privilege to train. Being that I was once obese, I have the sympathy and empathy for those who suffer from this very same issue. I also enjoy sports and have been involved in some kind of sport throughout my life. Specificity is essential for improving ones gains especially for athletes.
I enjoy training those who are rehabilitating due to an injury. My coming from a holistic preventative Chiropractic clinic has allowed for me to gain insight and knowledge on how to effectively train individuals who suffer from an injury or recovering due to surgery. I have a beautiful wife and two precious daughters. I have my degree in Health and Fitness Education and am currently completing my degree in Health and Human Sciences. My passion for fitness has lead me to continue my education both academically and professionally
